Athlete Code of Conduct

EXPECTATIONS

Wolf Pack Wrestling Club holds its team, athletes, coaches, and parents to a high standard. It is expected

that all our members observe and recognize the culture of our program. This includes the program

philosophy, vision, and fundamental principles.

Wolf Pack Wrestling Club's philosophy of sportsmanship and character is founded on the following Fundamental Principles:

RESPECT – treat others as you want to be treated.

ATTITUDE – is a choice, so choose to have a positive one.

PASSION – true success comes from within and striving for personal improvement.

INTEGRITY – give your best effort to do the right thing in all aspects of your life.

DISCIPLINE – doing the thing you should do but may not want to do and not doing the thing you want to

do that you should not do.

HONESTY – is a foundation of one’s character and should be practiced in all that you do.

PRACTICE

- Respect yourself, teammates, coaches, and parents

- Respect everyone’s private space

- Pay attention, follow directions

- Do not distract or disrupt the other wrestlers

- Stay off equipment unless instructed

- Raise your hand to speak

- Ask permission from coach to get a drink, use the restroom, or talk to parent/guardian

COMPETITION

- Treat other wrestlers, teams, fans, coaches, tournament staff and officials with respect

- Practice sportsmanship before, during, and after each match

- WIN or LOSE: shake opponent’s and opposing coach’s hand and exit the mat in a dignified manner

- Pay attention to coaches’ instruction during the match

- Participate and follow direction during organized team warmup

- Address any coaching or officiating concerns through a coach after the match

ZERO TOLERANCE

Throwing head gear or ancle bands, not shaking hands, un-sportsman like conduct during a match,

arguing with coach and/or officials, inappropriate language or gestures, excessive celebration, taunting,

etc. will not be tolerated!
